Location & Info Shandong University was founded in 1901, as the first modern public university outside the capital city of Beijing. As one of the largest and oldest comprehensive key universities in China, it comes under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Education. For over one hundred years, since its foundation, Shandong University has been playing an important role in the education of outstanding students. Many of these students have gone on to become leaders of their professions. Cultural and Educational exchanges and co-operation with over 100 universities and other academic organizations overseas. Established long-term "sister university" relationship with over 50 overseas universities and colleges. The university covers an area of over 380 hectares with 1.07 million square meters of floor space, with five campuses in Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province, and one campus in Weihai, a scenic coastal city. In its 29 schools, the university maintains 9 research stations for post-doctoral programs and offers 74 doctoral programs, 155 master programs, 100 undergraduate majors, and 21 diploma majors in nine fields, namely, Medicine, Dentistry, law, sciences, engineering, literature, history, philosophy,, economics, management etc.,It employs over 3000 professors and assistant professors There are over 40,000 students on campus. additionally, 43 kinds of scholarships are available to students of outstanding academic ability. The university libraries have more than 3.55 million volumes of books. Shandong university is proud to be affiliated with hundreds of universities and other academic organizations all over the world, specially in the USA, Canada, England, Australia, Japan etc. Its future students will go on to be leaders in their field and be able to exchange and co-operate with its sister universities abroad.
Weather – Shandong has a warm-temperate monsoonal climate, with hot, rainy summers and dry, sunny winters. It has a mean annual temperature of 10.5 to 13.5 degrees Celsius -- the hottest month, July, averaging 24 to 27 degrees Celsius and the coldest month, January, -4 to 1 degrees Celsius -- and a mean annual precipitation of 550-950 mm.

Foreign Students Program: Shandong University offers course of MBBS for foreign students from all parts of the world, who can understand English. The medium of instruction is English. The program for foreign students started in Sep 2002. Currently 5 batches of students are studying. SU has only Pakistani students.
Tuition Fee CNY 42000 (Approx $5300 per year)
Hostel: Single room, suitable for one student, sharing bathroom facilities US$1275.00 per year. Single room, suitable for one student, attached bathroom facilities US$1650.00 per year. Executive style double room, with attached bathroom, suitable for family or 2 to 3 people, US$2500 to US$3000. per year. All rooms have Television, Telephone, Internet Point, Air Conditioner and Bed clothing.
Travel to Shandong - The students who will be selected and thus have taken admission will have to prepare the following documents before applying for a visa in the Chinese embassy; Police verification certificate from the Chief of Police of his/her area. 3 colored recent passport size photographs. Blood tests for HIV, HBV and HCV from any authentic laboratory. Medical certificate of fitness from any government hospital. Valid passport After they are approved admission by the University, the students will be sent a JW-202 forms (an invitation by the University to get a visa in the Chinese Embassy) within one month. They will also be sent an official acceptance letter by the University. They have to take these 2 along with the above mentioned documents with them when they are visiting Chinese embassy for application of the visa. They will be provided with the visa within 3-5 days of time from the Embassy. After the visa is stamped, they must take one way ticket to Beijing to Shandong. Then from Shandong airport, college bus will take students to Shandong University.
Food in the city – A separate dining room for Muslim students on the campus is available. Anyhow, in the city there are lot different varieties available, cheap and clean and for Muslims.
Shopping in the city Shandong is a big city and full of all sort of super markets, malls, and showrooms. All sort of clothing, groceries and other stuff can be found easily at the doorstep and at cheaper value.
