Location & Info Chengde is a famous historical and cultural city. It is situated in Hebei Province and has an area of 4,471 square kilometers and a population of 88.5 million. Surrounded by mountains, Chengde lies on the area between the Mongolia Plateau and the Huabei Plain. Chengde is an 18th century (Qing Dyansty) imperial resort area. The Imperial Summer Villa and the Eight Outer Temples are very famous scenic spots of China. The special locally-made products are silk products, glass ware, and tinned food. The college covers 1500 mus and its total area covered by its buildings is about 210,000 m2. The value of the college's fixed assets is 300 million Yuan. There are over 6,000 resident students and 1, 748 authorized employees out of which more than 540 are professors and associate professors. The college consists of six major departments. There are ten specialties for undergraduates and seven specialties for diploma students. The Nursing Education and the English Nursing Education are the "trademarks" of our college which has been taught in our college for many years. Therefore the college staff has the qualities and the qualifications to teach the international students MBBS in English. There are 51 teaching and research sections, 24 labs, and 6 scientific research institutions in the college. Among them, the Institute of Chinese Traditional Medicine is a key lab sanctioned by Hebei Province to promote and expand the study and research of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Weather - Surrounded by mountains, Chengde lies on the area between the Mongolia Plateau and the Huabei Plain. It has a temperate continental climate with an annual average temperature of 8.8oC, and has 150 frost-free days. Annual rainfall averages 580 millimeters. The climate of Chengde is temperate and weathers are not that harsh, temperatures reach both in winters and summers are quite comfortable. All four weathers can be seen. There is not much rain and snowfall seen. Winter starts in Nov and goes on till end of Feb. Coldest month being Jan, in which temperature may fall 10 degrees below zero. Hottest month is Aug, temp may range up to 35 C.

Foreign students' Program - Chengde Medical College offers course of MBBS for foreign students from all parts of the world, who can understand English. The medium of instruction is English. The program for foreign students started in Sep 2006. Currently 1 batch of students is studying. Chengde Medical College has only Pakistani students.

Admission - Please send the following documents to our agent, 6 photographs, Passport size, Passport photocopy (if available), Photocopies of all academic certificates (Secondary and higher secondary).

Tuition Fee

US$1950 + US$50 for registration per year (The student must pay the first year fee in full and from second year they can pay $1000 each semester)

Hostel fee: [/b]US$700 per year (The student must pay the first year fee in full and from second year they can pay $350 each semester), two students sharing one room (deluxe room) In some case, it may be possible to get 4 students to share one room, priced $350 per student, per year.

Administration fee:US$1000 (first year only) Includes College registration fee, Ministry of education visa certificate and administration fee). Please note! only part of this fee is paid to college, rest is used for administrative purposes, which includes, transportation, PMDC registration, commission to sub-agents and further research.

Hostel: Telephone. Bed clothing. Internet point. Air conditioner. Study table with a chair. Single bed for each student. Room central heating system. A nice and well furnished room for two or four students. Attach bath room with hot and cold water deluxe room only.

Travel to Chengde - The students who will be selected and thus have taken admission will have to prepare the following documents before applying for a visa in the Chinese embassy; Police verification certificate from the Chief of Police of his/her area. 3 colored recent passport size photographs. Blood tests for HIV, HBV and HCV from any authentic laboratory. Medical certificate of fitness from any government hospital. Valid passport After they are approved admission by the University, the students will be sent a JW-202 forms (an invitation by the University to get a visa in the Chinese Embassy) within one month. They will also be sent an official acceptance letter by the University. They have to take these 2 along with the above mentioned documents with them when they are visiting Chinese embassy for application of the visa. They will be provided with the visa within 3-5 days of time from the Embassy. After the visa is stamped, they must get a one-way ticket to Beijing, China. A direct flight is advisable. Every person can carry not more than 30 Kgs of luggage without any additional expenses. After landing on Beijing airport, the University bus will be waiting to pick them up. From Beijing to Chengde, it is only 3 hours bus ride on motorway.

Food in the city - As far food is concerned, this city has not much to offer. Muslim food is scarce over here. There are few Muslim restaurants in the city. But, the food is cooked separately by Muslim cooks for Muslims in the college. Meat is sold separately for Muslims and non-Muslims. All seasonal vegetables and fruits can be found here or should we say, even more. These can be found easily in local green grocery markets or from hawkers. This city is full of small restaurants and cafes. Any time you can go out and have anything you want including all sort of Chinese dishes.

Shopping in the city - Shopping in the city is charming, amusing and worth your money. A whole range of shops from very small, community based one, to a lot of super stores and super markets. You can buy anything you think of from these stores and surprisingly at very meager amount. All sort of clothing, for girls and boys, can be found with ease and in good rates. Although, a smaller city, Chengde is very near to Metropolitan capital of China, Beijing, so one can always opt to visit for some big shopping there.
