Location & InfoLioning Medical University was founded in 1946. Lioning Medical University is one of the higher provincial schools in the western part of Liaoning Province. In 1958, with the approval of the State Council of China, it was named as Lioning Medical University. Approved by the Academic Degrees Committee under the State Council, LMU became a university in 1999. Since 2003, this university has been qualified to grant Master’s degree to clinical medical graduate students. The campus is very huge covering an area of 1,189,000 Sq.mtrs. and has floor-space totaling 391,000 Sq.mtrs. Lioning is the central city of west part of Liaoning Province along the Bohai Bay, located in the northeast China. It only takes a drive of 4 and a half hour to reach Beijing. Lioning is an ancient town with a thousand-year history. Green mountains and blue water add more glamour to this beautiful city. The natural scenery and valuable historic heritage make Lioning a hot tourist city of Liaoning Province. It has a geographically advantageous location with a coast-line of some 100 kilometers. Lioning Harbor is China's first open trade port in the northeast part. It is a flourishing commercial city and modern international port. It is the communication hub linking the northeast and north China. Lioning comprises of 5 universities and colleges, 22 scientific research institutes with 100 thousand professional staffs, which ranked the third place in Liaoning Province. China's first female riot police force was set up by the Public Security Bureau in Lioning city in 2003. The Library in the campus is a modern construction having electronic audio-visual components and the internet facility. Huge volume of reference books, magazines and medical journals are made available besides text books in English medium. The capacity of students is about 15000. Presently, there are 219 Professors or Chief Doctors, 533 Associated Professors, 74 with Doctor Degree, 315 with master degree etc. Most of the faculty for the undergraduate course consists of National and International Professors trained from USA, UK, Canada and Belgium. Hundreds of teachers and researchers, have won the honor of ‘Excellent Teacher and talented person with great abilities for science and technology’ by national government and local government, for their outstanding achievements. English as the medium of instruction for foreign students has started since last year. All classrooms are equipped with multimedia to facilitate easier and visual teaching methodologies.

Weather – Lioning lies in the warm temperate zone of the North Hemisphere, with maritime feature of warm temperate continental monsoon climate. Thus, its four seasons are distinct with neither extremely cold weather in winter nor extremely hot weather in summer. The average temperature of the year is 10.5 degrees Celsius, the rainfall of the year is 550 to 950 millimeters and the whole year sunshine is 2500 to 2800 hours.

Admission Eligibility Criterion: Should have completed 12th Standard successfully with at least 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology(PCB) group.SC/ST/OBC students are allowed up to 40% in the PCB group. PCB + English aggregate should be at least 50% in the 12th standard. SC/ST/OBC students are allowed up to 40% for the same. Must be 17 years of age on 31st December of year of joining. Documents to be submitted: Application form to be filled with complete details and submitted. 10th, 11th and 12th standard Marks Cards should be enclosed(Originals plus one set of photocopies). Migration (Also called as Transfer Certificates, school Leaving Certificates.), 6 passport size photographs(latest copies). Physical fitness certificate issued by authorized doctors. Copy of Passport. Caste Certificate to be submitted in case of SC/ST/OBC categories. The submitted documents of the students are sent to the Medical Council of India(MCI) for procuring the eligibility Certificates. Next, the documents are sent to the Lioning Medical University for admission processing. The admission letter of the students is procured along with appropriate break up of the fee structre for 4-12 years. Next, the pre-approved Student's Visa in favour of the students is processed by the Lioning Medical University and duly dispatched. The departure date to China is intimated to the students and they will be expected to be completely ready for flying onward to China for their respective medical education in the due time. All the students will be gathered at a common location for an orientation and introduction program before flying to China.

It is a special institution for enrolling, training foreign students and promoting overseas educational cooperation with foreign institutions. Now there are 400 students mainly from from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal.

One year of Internship follows thereafter. Location of Internship is optional and can be done in China or in India. In China, Internship cost is as follows : $ 1100 (includes accommodation and food). The overall cost includes Tuition fees, accommodation and food for 4 ½ years.

Hostel: Hostels are situated inside the Campus, well equipped and furnished, and separated for boys and girls. Adequate security is provided to international students’ hostels. There are departmental stores, restaurants, post office, telephone booths, theatres, sports centers, gymnasiums and play grounds for all types of sports within the university campus.

Travel to Lioning - The students who will be selected and thus have taken admission will have to prepare the following documents before applying for a visa in the Chinese embassy; Police verification certificate from the Chief of Police of his/her area. 3 colored recent passport size photographs. Blood tests for HIV, HBV and HCV from any authentic laboratory. Medical certificate of fitness from any government hospital. Valid passport After they are approved admission by the University, the students will be sent a JW-202 forms (an invitation by the University to get a visa in the Chinese Embassy) within one month. They will also be sent an official acceptance letter by the University. They have to take these 2 along with the above mentioned documents with them when they are visiting Chinese embassy for application of the visa. They will be provided with the visa within 3-5 days of time from the Embassy. After the visa is stamped, they must take one way ticket from to Beijing to Lioning. After landing on Lioning airport, the University bus will be waiting to pick them up.

Food in the city – A separate meal arrangement for vegetarians and Muslims is there right inside the campus. Although, city is full of restaurants offering variety of meals for everyone.

Shopping in the city Commercial development of Lioning has increased in recent years. Anyone traveling to the city is encouraged to wander around the skyscraping shopping malls and stores. You will find a sea of world-famous fashion brands. Lioning has undergone rapid development from the mid 1990s during which time a host of foreign consumer-goods companies have entered China's market. Large scale shopping malls and supermarkets including MYCALL (Japan), Parkson (Malaysia), Carrefour (France), Wal Mart (U.S.) have been built. The time-honored Friendship Stores (a famous department store brand in China's planned economy period) have established many new shopping centers and stores throughout the city. Therefore, you will find numerous shopping choices in the city.
